P6.5 Wiki Audit — 2026-04-16

Resolved in this session

  • Q60 (SSKL aerodynamic body): Confirmed Mercedes factory engineers built the streamlined body for von Brauchitsch’s 1932 Avusrennen SSKL — not an external coachbuilder. Documented in manfred-von-brauchitsch.md.
  • Busso/Chiti/Hruska chronology: Fixed misleading phrasing in giuseppe-busso.md that implied Chiti was alongside Busso in 1939 (Chiti joined 1953).
  • Erdmann & Rossi / Alfa Romeo connection: The firm did not directly body Alfa Romeo chassis; the connection is indirect — a German buyer’s 8C 2900 B was bodied by Karosseriewerk Aug Nowack in an Erdmann & Rossi style because Italian coachwork was “unpatriotic” in Nazi Germany (RM Sotheby’s auction provenance). Documented in erdmann-rossi.md.

Remaining unverified

Factual gaps

  • Targa Florio year-by-year coachbuilder attribution (1936–1938): Which specific races had Touring-bodied vs Zagato-bodied Alfa winners? Zagato confirmed for 8C 2300 Monza (1931–1933 wins); Touring confirmed for 8C 2300 road bodies and 8C 2900B competition cars. Specific race-by-race attribution for 1935–1938 not confirmed from primary sources.
  • 1938 Mille Miglia death toll: Accounts vary between “nine” and “eleven” spectators killed. The note uses “ten” based on the BBC source but primary Italian sources should be consulted.
  • Sivocci birthplace (Salerno vs Aversa): Unresolved — see open_questions Q24.
  • Giorgio Rimini post-1926 fate: No death date, no subsequent career — see open_questions Q25.
  • Alfa Romeo 8C 35: Wikilinked in at least one note but no dedicated entry. Car was a 1935/1936 racing variant; significance to vault unclear.
