Chris Logan
Chris Logan (also referenced as James Logan in some sources) is a South African analyst and shareholder activist who pursued appraisal rights in relation to the 2022 sale of RMH Holdings’ Atterbury Europe stake to Brightbridge at R1.75 billion — representing a book loss exceeding R500 million against the IFRS NAV of R2.262 billion. His analysis demonstrated that RMH’s executive incentive schemes rewarded completion of asset sales regardless of the price achieved, creating a structural misalignment between management incentives and minority shareholder value. Logan and other shareholders ultimately withdrew their legal challenge, but the analysis contributed to the governance critique that Albie Cilliers subsequently developed into a more direct activist campaign via board presence and TRP complaints.
