Transaction Capital
Transaction Capital is a JSE-listed financial services and transport company that became a major WeBuyCars investor in 2020, acquiring a 49.9% stake for approximately R1.86 billion. It later increased its shareholding to 74.9% for an additional R1.6 billion. Transaction Capital subsequently sold its WeBuyCars stake ahead of the company’s independent JSE listing in April 2024, allowing Faan and Dirk van der Walt to regain a cleaner ownership structure. The WeBuyCars listing generated the liquidity base from which the brothers later funded their 51% stake in AttBid Proprietary Limited.
