GADIS
The German Atopic Dermatitis Intervention Study (Staab et al., BMJ 2006) randomised 992 families of children with moderate-to-severe eczema at seven German hospitals. The intervention was six weekly 2-hour multiprofessional group education sessions or no education. For children aged 3 months to 7 years, SCORAD fell 17.5 v 12.2 points at 12 months, and parental quality of life improved on all five subscales. It is the largest and most robust trial in the Cochrane review of eczema education.
