Candidiasis
Candida albicans is a yeast that commonly complicates irritant Nappy Rash. It produces deep red patches that involve the skin creases, with small satellite spots or pustules beyond the edge. Topical antifungals such as clotrimazole are used, sometimes combined with mild hydrocortisone (DermNet, Napkin dermatitis). It can also infect broken skin around the lips in Lip-Licker’s Dermatitis (DermNet).
