Neonatal Herpes

Neonatal herpes is Herpes Simplex Virus infection in a newborn baby, which the NHS describes as “very dangerous”. The NHS cold sores page warns that kissing a baby while you have a cold sore can cause it. It is the infant counterpart to the risk toddlers with eczema face from Eczema Herpeticum, and the same no-kissing rule applies.
