Feverfew

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) is a Compositae (daisy-family) herb. It is the source of parthenolide, the sesquiterpene lactone that is patch-tested alongside the SL mix to detect Compositae Allergy (DermNet). It is listed among the individual plants that may need testing in a suspected case. Because Compositae sensitisation is more common in atopic children, feverfew-containing “natural” skincare is a potential trigger for a toddler with eczema.
