Food Allergy — open questions
- Does aggressively controlling eczema in early infancy (e.g. proactive topical anti-inflammatories) actually reduce later food allergy, as the dual-allergen exposure hypothesis predicts? (PACI-type trial results not yet reviewed in this vault.)
- For toddlers aged 1–4 who already have eczema but were never introduced to peanut/egg, what is the safest catch-up introduction strategy — test first (NIAID) or introduce promptly to avoid delay (BSACI)?
- What proportion of the slight SCORAD benefit of elimination diets (Oykhman 2022, RD 9%) is lost or reversed by new IgE allergy on reintroduction, in a prospective rather than retrospective (Chang 2016) cohort?
