Conflict: [Margolis et al., JAMA Dermatol 2014, PEER Registry] says >80% of children aged 2–26 still had symptoms or used treatment, and only half had a 6-month clear spell by age 20. [Paternoster et al., JACI 2018, ALSPAC] says the commonest eczema pattern is early-onset-early-resolving (13–15%), clearing by 6–7 years, with only 5–7% early-onset-persistent. Unresolved (registry of pimecrolimus users vs whole birth cohort). Notes: PEER Registry, ALSPAC.

Conflict: [FDA Opzelura label, 2025–2026] licenses ruxolitinib cream for mild-to-moderate AD from age 2. [EMA Opzelura EPAR, accessed 2026] licenses it for AD in adults only. This is a regulatory difference on the same trial evidence. Unresolved. Note: Ruxolitinib Cream.

Conflict: [Shi et al., JAMA Dermatol 2013] found significant improvement in eczema knowledge and self-management with an action plan. [Duhovic et al., cited in Thandi 2023] found no benefit over verbal instruction, and [Gilliam et al., JAAD 2016] found no significant overall difference vs standard care. Unresolved. Note: Written Eczema Action Plan.
