Topical Corticosteroids — open questions
- What is the long-term (>1 year) safety of weekend/proactive TCS in children aged 1–4, especially for skin thinning, adrenal function and TSW? Trials mostly ran 16–20 weeks.
- Is there a defined cumulative dose, duration or potency threshold below which paediatric Topical Steroid Withdrawal does not occur, and can it be told apart from undertreated eczema or steroid contact allergy?
- Which interventions (education, written action plans, FTU demonstrations) measurably reduce parental steroid phobia and improve adherence in toddlers?
