NMBI

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is the statutory body that regulates nurses and midwives in Ireland. South African nurses targeting the Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit must hold a degree or diploma accepted by NMBI before being eligible, making NMBI registration an integral step in the Ireland nursing pathway. NMBI accepts Irish-equivalent nursing qualifications and assesses overseas-trained nurses, including those trained in South Africa, through its application and fitness-to-practise process.
