SACE

The South African Council for Educators (SACE) is the statutory professional body for teachers in South Africa. SA teachers must be registered with SACE to practise legally in SA schools. A SACE Certificate of Good Standing (or proof of current SACE registration) is the primary document required for overseas teaching qualification recognition — specifically for the UK DfE’s free QTS digital application service (from August 2025) and for Australian AITSL skills assessments. SACE registration status is directly verifiable online.
