New Zealand Green List
The New Zealand Green List is a list of shortage occupations that qualifies holders for fast-tracked residence via the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). Tier 1 (Straight to Residence) allows qualified workers to apply for a residence visa directly with a job offer — no temporary work period required. Tier 2 (Work to Residence) requires 2 years of work in New Zealand before applying for residence. Engineering roles are predominantly Tier 1; nursing is typically Tier 2. Minimum wage threshold is NZD $35/hour (from March 2026). Age limit: 55 years old or younger at time of residence application.
