Islamabad Talks

The Islamabad Talks were high-level US-Iran negotiations hosted by Pakistan in April 2026 — the highest-level direct US-Iran engagement since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance. After 21+ hours of negotiations, the talks collapsed on April 12 over Iran’s demands for nuclear enrichment rights, control of the Strait of Hormuz, war reparations, and a regional ceasefire including Lebanon. The failure directly triggered Trump’s declaration of the US Naval Blockade.
