Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament and served as the lead Iranian negotiator at the Islamabad Talks. After those talks collapsed and the IRGC reimposed the Hormuz closure on April 18, he stated: “It is impossible for others to pass through the Strait of Hormuz while we cannot. If the United States does not lift the blockade, transit through the Strait of Hormuz will certainly be restricted.” He portrayed the ceasefire as an Iranian victory in a live speech to the Iranian public.
