Code C Heavy Vehicle

Code C (with sub-code C1 for 3 500–16 000 kg) is the heavy-motor-vehicle licence code, the old learner Code 3, for vehicles above 3 500 kg GVM. It shares the car control layout but the controls study scope is extended to cover heavy-vehicle braking and gear handling.

Scope

• Applies to: Goods/passenger vehicles >3 500 kg GVM. C1 = 3 500–16 000 kg; C = >16 000 kg.
• Minimum age: 18
• Control scope: Same 11-control layout as Code B plus extra heavy-vehicle braking and gear material
