SNMP

SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is the dominant IT-side protocol for monitoring UPS state from network management systems. UPS units expose battery status, load level, alarms, and runtime estimate via standard MIBs. The Sentinel Dual SDU page cites SNMP support up to version 3 — the version that adds authentication and encryption. Riello’s NetMan 204 is the typical hardware accessory that adds SNMP to UPS units that don’t have native network ports.
