Network Monitoring of a UPS
Q: Can I monitor my UPS over the network?
A: Yes. Riello UPS units are typically monitored via two layers:
- A network interface card (e.g. NetMan 204) added to the UPS — adds SNMP, web, and Modbus interfaces. Most mid-range and larger Riello UPS units have a slot for this card; some models include it natively (e.g. Sentinel Dual SDU and Sentinel Tower have native SNMP v3, Modbus, Jbus).
- PC-side management software (PowerShield) — provides per-host orderly shutdown when battery time is exhausted, plus richer dashboards. Free download from Riello.
Standby Systems also offers a 24/7 monitoring service that takes UPS event feeds remotely so faults surface to the support team without on-site IT presence — useful for remote and unattended sites.
