Fidelity ADT
Fidelity ADT is South Africa’s largest private security company by client count, formed in 2017 through Fidelity Services Group’s acquisition of Tyco International’s ADT South Africa business. The company serves 365,000+ clients including over 70% of South African retailers, operating 40 branches with approximately 5,000 armed response officers nationwide.
Fidelity ADT provides 24-hour CCTV surveillance, armed response, access control, license plate recognition, and smart home technology. Its Vumatel partnership gives it access to 18,000+ CCTV cameras reading ~12 million license plates daily. The company is PSIRA-registered and licensed under the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001. In June 2025 it expanded beyond security into private firefighting services (SecureFire).
For a voice distress app, Fidelity ADT represents the highest-value potential control room partnership in South Africa — a deal with Fidelity ADT would immediately provide access to the country’s most established armed response network. However, no public API, developer program, or third-party app integration framework has been identified in available materials. Fidelity ADT’s traditional business model is based on long-term 36-month subscriber contracts, which may conflict with a consumer app’s monthly subscription model. The partnership negotiation risk is rated medium: Fidelity ADT has strong incentive to expand its addressable market via app partnerships, but may prefer to build its own app rather than partner with a third party.
