Compulsory Direction Sign

Compulsory-direction signs force a movement (e.g. turn left only). As blue command signs they state what you must do, unlike a red-bordered prohibition.

Meaning

Blue circle with a white arrow (turn left, right or proceed ahead).

Required driver response

Travel only in the direction the arrow indicates.

Question patterns

  • “What does this sign mean?” — recognition of meaning.
  • “What must you do when you see this sign?” — required response.
  • Distractor trap: confusing the blue command arrow with a blue one-way information arrow.
